2008 Rotary Auction Recap.... Rotary Auction committee chair, Ronnie Cole, reported that approximately $20,400 was netted at this year’s auction held at the New Russia Township Hall on Saturday, October 18th. About 85 people ate, drank, and bid the night away to benefit the Oberlin Rotary Club. The auction serves as the single largest fundraiser for the Oberlin Rotary Club throughout the year. Funds raised at the event benefit the greater Oberlin community through Rotary sponsorship and donations. Some 2008 beneficiaries of the funds include Oberlin Community Services, softball and baseball team sponsorship, Family Fun Fair, Santa’s Arrival, the Oberlin Summer Concert Series, and projects such as the hospital room make over. |
